What is actually verified?

The 6 August reel shows “Wrench sculpture,” CNC shaping of a white foam-like blank, hand finishing, spray coating, one-person handling, and the finished wrench on a garage facade.

It gives no defensible dimensions, weight, price, shell thickness, frame, warranty, packing data, SKU or installation drawing. “Fiberglass” appears only as the seller's hashtag. No identical public listing or cross-post was found.

Did they say under $3,000?

Yes, but not for this wrench. The separate factory promo says “all of them are under the $3,000” while showing helmets, cartoons, cats, clowns, and robot-like pieces. The wrench never appears.

How was the cost modeled?

Expected case: $1,500 sculpture + $350 crate + $450 Hefei pickup/export + $350 LCL ocean + $30 insurance. Customs value: $2,680.

The model reserves 40.39% of customs value for duty/tax, using a secondary tariff mirror for chapter 39. That rate was not independently returned by the live 2026 ICEGATE backend, so it is a conservative reserve, not a verified filing rate. Add $750 Indian CFS, broker and road delivery, then $650 facade installation. Conversion uses the ₹95 customs USD rate.

  • Low: $1,000 product → ₹2.8 lakh landed → ₹3.2 lakh installed.
  • Expected: $1,500 product → ₹4.3 lakh landed → ₹4.9 lakh installed.
  • Defensive: $3,000 product → ₹7.7 lakh landed → ₹8.8 lakh installed.

Likely code: 39264000, with 39269099 as fallback. 97039090 needs genuine original-art evidence and is unlikely for a factory-made trade-display prop. Re-run the final code and China origin through ICEGATE before the order becomes non-cancellable.

Import IGST may be creditable only for an eligible GST-registered business with a correctly matched bill of entry. BCD and SWS remain costs. Permanent attachment to immovable property can complicate credit.

What price is actually reasonable?
  • $800–1,200 EXW if it is mainly CNC foam with a hard coat.
  • $1,200–1,800 EXW if it has documented fiberglass reinforcement, steel mounting inserts, exterior 2K coating and a proper crate.
  • Above $2,200 needs a materially stronger specification, inspection proof and written exterior warranty. $3,000 is not the wrench price.
Is the shipping number real?

It is a planning model, not a booking. The lightweight one-piece prop shown may pack around 1.4–2.2 CBM. A stronger two-piece export design plausibly needs 1.9–4.4 CBM; a realistic preferred case is about 2.8 CBM and 400–500 kg gross.

For that preferred case, modeled LCL origin/ocean/destination charges are $820–1,580 plus ₹28,000–65,000 for near-Mumbai brokerage and delivery, before crate, insurance and customs. LCL normally wins below 5 CBM if stackable; use 20 ft FCL around 7–10 chargeable CBM or earlier for non-stackable/high-finish cargo. JNPT is assumed; final city is unknown.

Why still choose the wrench?
  • Simple one-piece shape is cheaper to fabricate and crate.
  • One worker carries it, so handling and facade mounting should be manageable.
  • No wings, fingers, horns, lighting, or moving parts to break.
What must be in the written quote?
  • EXW, FOB Shanghai/Ningbo and CIF JNPT prices
  • finished and packed dimensions, gross weight and CBM
  • foam type, fiberglass lay-up, resin, shell thickness and steel inserts
  • UV-stable coating, outdoor warranty and repair kit
  • anchor drawing, wind-load basis and centre of gravity
  • plywood or ISPM-15 compliant crate and inspection rights
  • HS code, invoice, packing list, origin and prior India shipment proof
  • production lead time; plan roughly 8–12 weeks through delivery until confirmed
How to reduce purchase risk
  • No legal entity was conclusively tied to the exact reel. Related sites expose differing company names and contact numbers.
  • Match the Chinese business licence, invoice name and bank beneficiary before paying.
  • Use protected payment or 30% deposit and 70% only after an independent pre-shipment inspection.
  • Inspect dimensions, weight, coating, reinforcement, brackets and the sealed crate. Get loading photos and cargo insurance.
  • Use plywood throughout where possible; any raw-wood frame or dunnage must be ISPM-15 compliant.
Sources and maintenance

Planning estimate, not a seller or freight quote. JNPT/near-Mumbai assumed. ₹95/US$. HS 39264000 is provisional; the 40.39% tax reserve is not a live ICEGATE confirmation. Customs broker must verify code, rate and destination costs before payment.
